New tree species to be planted at NWMSU

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Some new tree species are joining about 160 tree species on the Northwest Missouri State University campus.

North Dakota State University picked Northwest and 17 others to plant balsam poplar trees and their hybrid counterparts.

This is part of a new garden-based research network funded by the National Science Foundation's Plant Genome Research program.

The new trees will be planted this fall and next spring around the Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation.
